Philadelphia, March 14, 2011 — State Sen. Anthony H. Williams will join Opportunities Industrialization Centers of America (OICA), Mayor Michael Nutter and state Sen. Shirley Kitchen to announce a new economic initiative to spark economic development within the African American community.
The announcement of “Entrepreneurial Mindset Initiative: will take place on Tuesday, March 15 at 11:30 a.m. at Progress Plaza Shopping Center, located at 1501 N. Broad St. in Philadelphia.
“Although the economy is slowly recovering, we still have too many people who are unemployed or underemployed. We have a unique opportunity at this time to embolden men and women to start their own business and become self-employed,” said Williams, who was involved in the development of this initiative. “This announcement will launch a great initiative to help individuals learn how they can be successful in the workforce.”
