PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 9, 2011 — State Sen. Anthony H. Williams, the Philadelphia Police Department and the Majlis Ash-Shura invite West and Southwest Philadelphia residents to attend an upcoming public meeting to discuss ways to improve communication between the community and law enforcement.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at SOCCA Auditorium (Turner Middle School building), 5900 Baltimore Ave. in Philadelphia.

“A good relationship between the community and our police officers is essential for improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods,” Williams said. “I welcome the public to attend this meeting so we can discuss solutions that will help maintain the safety of residents and allow the police to effectively protect us.”
