Philadelphia, March 16, 2011 — Homeowners who are looking to make their homes more energy efficient may qualify for assistance under a pilot program initiated by state Sen. Anthony H. Williams in coordination with the Energy Coordinating Agency (ECA).
EnergyWorks Plus provides a free energy audit and up to $1,600 with a customer co-pay of $200 toward any ECA-approved home improvements. The program is open to residents in the 8th Senate District who do not qualify for low-income weatherization assistance and have been denied a bank loan for an energy improvement loan.
“Many homes in our community are older and were not designed to be energy efficient, and homeowners are paying the price in their utility bills,” Williams said. “EnergyWorks Plus is a great program to help individuals pay for home improvement projects that keep out extreme temperatures and keep bills in check.”
