September 2, 2010 [Philadelphia, PA] — When a fire and subsequent propane explosions broke out at Scully Welding Supply in Collingdale on September 1, first responders from all over Delaware County rushed to the scene to contain the fire, lead people to safety, treat the wounded and direct traffic and pedestrians away from the treacherous inferno. Thanks to their swift actions, no one was killed and the fire did not spread too far.

Delaware County is fortunate to have so many dedicated men and women serving in our police and fire department and EMS units. They put their lives on the line every day and I am truly grateful for their service to our communities.

Thank you to all the first responders who helped keep the September 1 fire in Collingdale under control and God Bless all of our police officers, firefighters and paramedics.
