Philadelphia, Pa. – January 15, 2020 – Below is the letter that State Sen. Anthony H. Williams sent to the Honorable Kevin Gross of the United States Bankruptcy Court. Williams said in the letter that the explosion of the Philadelphia Energy Solutions refinery has not only accelerated the bankruptcy and closure of the plant, but further exasperated community concerns about air quality and potential health hazards from the historic refinery.
Williams also outlines his hopes for the future entity that will take control of the refinery site.
