DESCRIPTION:Download flyer. \nThe Myths and Reality of Informal Kinship Care \nOne child in 10 in the United States lives with a grandparent.  For 4 out of 10 of those children\, that grandparent is the primary caregiver. \nOur panel of experts will discuss pros and cons; myth vs. reality of informal kinship care.  Panel to include: Barry Kassel of Support Center of Child Advocates (SCCA)\, Jennifer Russell of SeniorLAW Center (SLC)\, Chartan Nelson of Grand Central\, Inc. and Jean Hackney of Grands as Parents. \nThis session is the first in a series of panel discussions to be held as an outgrowth of our successful Helping Hands Intergenerational Resource and Information Conference in May 2011.

Not your “average” Career Fair\, this will give you the opportunity to have the inside track for employment. \nWe will have three presenters from SEPTA’s Human Resource Department to identify what skills and experiences the company would like to see in applicants. Dan Amspacher\, a Talent Director at SEPTA\, will talk about the experience required for different positions within the company. George Spellman will go over the SEPTA culture\, history\, and standards. A member of the SEPTA Transit Police Department will talk about what it takes to be a PoliceOfficer for SEPTA. \nA SEPTA representative will be on hand to explain how to fill out their job application.
