Over the past two weeks, I’ve introduced several pieces of legislation to assist Pennsylvanians through the COVID-19 pandemic. I am fighting for the 8th Senatorial District and working to ensure that Harrisburg protects vulnerable communities, promotes equity in our economy, and supports essential workers.
This crisis has had a dramatic impact on our community and I will continue to do all I can to promote policies that will provide support and comfort to you during these uncertain times.
If passed, my legislation will:
- Create a bonus for essential workers who are serving our communities during this crisis;
- Expand postpartum Medicaid coverage for new mothers;
- Expand Pennsylvania’s Rental Assistance Program for those struggling to pay their rent; and
- Provide funeral assistance to families who’ve lost loved ones due to COVID-19.
I believe this legislation provides vital assistance to those who need it most. So long as we are guided by a collective desire to recognize and reaffirm each other’s humanity, we will return to normal life as a stronger society.
