PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 20, 2015 — Some spirited hoops competition will help students in Philadelphia and Delaware counties prepare for back to school beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, during Sen. Anthony Hardy Williams’ “2015 Ultimate Back 2 School Basketball Tournament.”

The Foundation for a Better Society and local officials are working with Sen. Williams to deliver this opportunity.

After competitors and attendees donate notebooks, backpacks, pencils and other school supplies, the champion of the basketball tournament can then donate all of the collected school supplies to the school they represent.

The following teams, and their sponsors, include:

Acorn School – State Rep. Jordan Harris

Bartrum High School – Mont Brown/ARF

Childs School – Councilman Kenyatta Johnson

Comegys School – Sen. Williams

Hardy Williams Mastery Charter – Bouncy On Wheels

Harrington School – Rep. James Roebuck

King High School – Kings Rule Together

Lea School – Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell

MCS Charter School – Nehemiah Davis Foundation

Morton McMichael School – Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds-Brown

Overbrook Elementary School – District Attorney Seth Williams

Overbrook High School – Councilman Curtis Jones Jr.

Penn Wood Middle School – Don Cave / Barber Money Team

Penrose School – 12th Philadelphia Police District

Comegys School won the championship last year.

Free health screenings by Keystone, refreshments by Alisha Jackson and The Beautification Project, and music by DJ RudeBoi will also be part of the event.
